In the literature, the problem of the eastern frontier (including Polish-Belarusian relations) has been usually pushed into the background of the European experience. The memory of multi-ethnic, colourful part of Europe has faded, covered by the changes that the Second World War and communism produced, and was considered a minor issue. Nowadays, we can also see a new political order emerging in East-Central Europe (...) Processes that are apparent in this part of Europe are multi-dimensional and cannot be easily judged politically. The author tries to answer the question of how mutual Polish-Belarusian relations in the twentieth century influence contemporary political choices of both nations as well as how they perceive a contemporary political reality.
