Monografia poświęcona jest policzalności i niepoliczalności rzeczownika w języku angielskim. Książkę rozpoczyna przegląd literatury poświęconej temu zagadnieniu począwszy od pierwszych gramatyk, w których podjęto analizę tego tematu, poprzez najważniejsze osiągnięcia różnych podejść: logicznego, morfologicznego, syntaktycznego, semantycznego oraz pragmatycznego.
