The first chapter deals with circumpolar poetry. Chapter 2 provides an analysis of a poem. Chapter 3 mainly thematizes the content of sagns, but also a little about how to use sagns in teaching. The purpose of Chapter 4 and 5 is to present how foreign students may learn about Norwegian culture, language and literature.
