The book is a continuation of the research on Szkoła Główna (the Main School). The authors of the articles collected in the publication pose questions about the conditions and the nature of the intergenerational exchange in that higher-education institution, as well as the ways and the extent in which the academic ideals, the value system and the intellectual attitudes formed there influenced the social milieus in the Kingdom of Poland and beyond.
