June Ferrow, from the small mountain town of Jasper in North Carolina, is waiting for her fate. The women of the Ferrow family are famous for their flower farm and the mysterious curse that haunts them. Madness has befallen all the women in this family for as long as anyone can remember. Then one day, Susannah Ferrow disappeared, and little June was left with her grandmother. A year ago, the girl began to see and hear things that weren't there: mysterious doors appearing out of nowhere, the faint sound of the wind, a voice calling her name. She always knew what was going to happen. It came for my grandmother, my mother, and now me. After her grandmother's death, June finds mysterious clues about where her mother disappeared to.
