Reviews and evaluates the quality and classroom appropriateness of picturebooks with a multicultural theme for grades K-4. Books covering Asia and the Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, South America, North America (Native Americans, Inuit, etc.), and books specific to the immigrant experience are profiled. Each book is described in one paragraph, reviewing the storyline, special features of the content, the look and style of the artwork, the interior design, and the layout of the book. Originally published in 1997, this second edition has been thoroughly revised and updated to include the applicable picturebooks that have been published in the past seven years.
