A selection of texts on the problem of ownership of works of art once belonging to individuals, public organisations, Churches and religious communities and taken over by the state in the times of Communism, or - earlier - by the occupants. The authors: lawyers, historians, art historians and economists from the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Ukraine and Hungary, present the rules of conduct towards these objects in their home countries after 1989.
