To Empower Be Empowered

`To empower, be empowered' are processes that enable individuals to take on greater responsibility and authority in decision making. The individuals' potential to make decisions can be maximized within an environment that nurtures them through education, training, professional development, commitment, facilitation, resources, mutual trust and emotional support.

In the educational context, `to empower, be empowered' is to provide a `self-surpassing classroom', that is, a classroom environment with `self-surpassing teachers' who engage their students in purposeful activities and direct them to be responsible for their own learning.
